UNITED REPUBLICANS OF CALIFORNIA
STATE SPRING CONVENTION
MAY 19, 2007
RESOLUTIONS
OPPOSE THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE REAL ID ACT OF 2005
Adopted in United
Republicans of California Spring Convention, May 19, 2007
WHEREAS, Founding Father Benjamin Franklin said that anyone who gives up liberty in order to obtain a little security deserves neither; and
WHEREAS, After the September 11, 2001 attack on America, President George W. Bush, through the Department of Homeland Security, hired former soviet KGB and East German STASI “consultants” to develop a national identity card that would allow the U.S. Government to control every American citizen; and
WHEREAS, Yevgeniy Primakov, former premier of the USSR and former director of the soviet KGB stated that this new “identity card” would give the U.S. government greater control over Americans than former soviet dictator Joseph Stalin had over the Russian people; and
WHEREAS, This identity card has two basic components and one flaw, to wit: (1) in addition to one’s physical description, it has access to all the information illegally gathered by the National Security Agency (“NSA”) through foreign and private agencies; and (2) it contains an embedded chip that enables the Dept. of Homeland Security and other federal agencies to keep track of the card’s location as well as remotely update any material related to one’s status, i.e., firearms registration which could lead to one’s firearms confiscation by the Dept. of Justice; and (3) the embedded chip’s flaw is that it can be “hacked;” and
WHEREAS, This identity card was touted as a “security measure” and deterrent to illegal immigration and terrorists by forcing everyone to accept this new identity card by May, 2008; and legislation called the “Real ID Act of 2005” was co-sponsored by members of the House of Representatives, Tom Tancredo (R-CO) and David Drier (R-CA), which was passed by Congress and signed into law by President George W. Bush; and
WHEREAS, As a national revolt against the Real ID Act has begun, the Department of Homeland Security has been bombarded with opposition to the implementation of the Real ID Act, . Now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That United Republicans of California diametrically opposes the unconstitutional legislation known as the Real ID Act of 2005 that subjects freedom-loving Americans to carry “identity cards” which were developed by former Soviet KGB or East German STASI “consultants” and calls upon its members to contact their State Legislators to draw up and approve a strong resolution opposing the implementation of the Real ID Act of 2005 by May 2008; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, United Republicans of California
calls upon its members to contact U.S. Senators and Congressmen to draw up
legislation that would repeal the Real ID Act of 2005 and preserve Americans’
freedom from government intrusion.
OPPOSE THE ASSOCIATION OF AMERICAN FREE TRADE AGREEMENTS (AAFTA)
Adopted
in United Republicans of California Spring Convention, May 19, 2007
WHEREAS, Negotiations on the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA), having first fallen behind schedule (original implementation date was 2005) and then stalling completely, advocates of globalist integration of the Western hemisphere have turned to other measures; and
WHEREAS, Former U.S. Trade Representative Robert B. Zoellick, member Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and who helped push through Central American Free Trade Agreement CAFTA), argues for an omnibus Association of American Free Trade Agreements (AAFTA) in order to bring prosperity to the entire Western hemisphere, and that this is necessary to counter rising economic influence coming from Asia; and
WHEREAS, AAFTA, touted as an Association (and not a treaty) would, in essence, be a “public private partnership” of the Bush Administration, the Democrat-controlled Congress, and corporations for
“free trade,” democracy, and economic development throughout the Western hemisphere into a single package driven essentially by transnational corporations; and
WHEREAS, Countries in South America are dragging their feet in the face of promises of better education, more jobs and increased opportunities because they smell a rat not because they are ignorant or backward as Zoellick propounds; and
WHEREAS, Few ordinary Americans have benefitted from NAFTA after almost a decade and a half but transnational corporations, which show no allegiance to America, have reaped enormous profits both from cheap labor abroad and the driving down of American wages, costing Americans well over a million jobs just in manufacturing alone, turning once thriving communities into ghost towns as their young people must seek work elsewhere; and
WHEREAS, The globalist elites have the need for a society consisting of two tiers: the elites (running the transnational corporations) and a permanently cash-strapped mass because a financially-independent and stable middle class, with the leisure time to become educated and monitor the elites, is their worst enemy; and
WHEREAS, Americans should oppose AAFTA, just as they are with FTAA, with its intendant tens of thousands of pages of more regulations of every kind, when those advocating “free trade” have not explained why it takes tens of thousands of pages to establish it; and
WHEREAS, If elites were genuinely committed to prosperity for all peoples, they would export, by example:
· principles of individualism (not collectivism);
· private property rights (not redistribution of wealth);
· Constitutionally-limited government (not expansionist government and debt); and
· respect for the rule of law (as opposed to both governments and transnational corporations answering only to each other and to the lure of money); and these alone provide for a people to elevate themselves to genuine prosperity which is always more than a matter of economics. Now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That United Republicans of California call upon its members to contact their representatives in Congress to oppose the American Association of the Free Trade Agreements (AAFTA), an unconstitutional public-private partnership of government and trans-national corporations, which would rob Americans of jobs and utterly destroy the American middle class; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That United Republicans of
California believe that for people to be prosperous, instead of the AAFTA,
UROC’s principles of individualism, private-property rights, Constitutionally-limited
government, and respect for the rule of law should be exported.
REPEAL THE MILITARY SELECTIVE SERVICE ACT
Adopted in United Republicans of California Spring Convention, May 19, 2007
WHEREAS, Conscription for military service, including the “back door draft” which extends the military duty of those who have volunteered to serve our country beyond the termination dates of their enlistment contract, or any other type of compulsory national service, is slavery, plain and simple; and
WHEREAS, Conscription was made illegal under the 13th Amendment, which prohibits involuntary servitude and being killed as a military draftee makes conscription a very dangerous kind of enslavement; and
WHEREAS, Instead of testing the efficacy of the Selective Service System and sending more troops off to an unconstitutionally-declared war we’re losing, and paid for by creating credit out of thin air, we ought to revive our love of liberty by repealing the Military Selective Service Act - as a free society should never depend on compulsory conscription to defend itself; and
WHEREAS, Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) has introduced legislation to repeal the Military Selective Service Act (H.R. 424) which would re-direct current government personnel involved in the Selective Service to other branches of the government and would give free legal assistance to anyone who had disobeyed an order to report for induction, and for other purposes. Now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That United Republicans of California,
believing that conscription into the military or other type of service is a
form of involuntary servitude or slavery, strongly supports Ron Paul’s
legislation to Repeal the Military Selective Service
Act (H.R. 424) and calls upon its members to contact their Congressmen to co-sponsor
and support H.R. 424.
SUPPORT “READ THE BILLS ACT”
Adopted
in United Republicans of California Spring Convention, May 19, 2007
WHEREAS, Legislation has been introduced into Congress entitled Read the Bills Act (“RTBA”) which requires that every piece of legislation must be posted on the Internet for seven (7) days before a vote can be held; and
WHEREAS, The RTBA would prevent the kind of mischief that is currently happening in Congress, specifically legislation that has to do with the grassroots regulation provisions of S. 1, which was vetoed. Now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That United Republicans of California
strongly supports the Read the Bill Act (“RTBA”) - protection against secretive
legislating - that forces all legislation to be publicly posted on the Internet
seven (7) days prior to voting so that grass-roots activists can call their
Congressmen to oppose or support different pieces of legislation.
OPPOSE FOOD FROM CHINA!
Adopted
in United Republicans of California Spring Convention, May 19, 2007
WHEREAS, The vast production of American food is one of the greatest achievements of our free-enterprise society and of our superior system of patents that encouraged the invention of fantastically-efficient farm machinery; in one of our favorite patriotic songs, we wax lyrical about our “amber waves of grain;” and
WHEREAS, The Clinton Administration conned American farmers into being the principal lobbyists in 2000 for passage of Permanent Normal Trade Relations (“PNTR”) for Communist China, which gave Chinese goods unconditional access to U.S. markets; and Clinton promised in his State of the Union address that PNTR for China would be a win-win for American agriculture because “this agreement will open China’s market to us;” and
WHEREAS, Clinton’s Department of Agriculture predicted that the average annual value of U.S. agricultural exports to China would increase by $1.5 billion; however, current Department of Commerce figures show that U.S. wheat exports to China are less today than before PNTR was passed; and
WHEREAS, Cheap or slave-labor in Asia can produce some agricultural products cheaper than we can with all our expensive equipment which has caused a trade imbalance with China of $6 Trillion dollars (growing at $2 Billion daily) and we are now importing 13 percent of the food Americans eat; and
WHEREAS, China simply doesn’t have health, sanitary, or safety standards that Americans have come to expect for our food supply and China cannot produce U.S.-style safety because of the sprawling and fragmented food-processing industry in a vast country where poisonings from tainted products are common; and.
WHEREAS, It was recently discovered that Communist China has been intentionally mixing industrial chemicals into pet and animal feed imported by U.S. companies, to wit:
· Melamine (a mixture of mammalian urine mixed with formaldehyde) into wheat-gluten and rice-protein concentrate in order to trick Americans into thinking they are buying feed with higher protein content;
· Cyanuric acid (a chemical used in chlorination during pool cleaning) into wheat-gluten products sold to the U.S.; and
· Diethylene glycol, a poison (that killed thousands of people in Panama, Haiti, and other countries) and a prime ingredient used in anti-freeze, into many varieties of medicines including cough syrup, fever medication, and injectable drugs because it is a cheap substitute for the safe glycerin; and
WHEREAS, The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) discovered the Communist Chinese’s dangerous tactics but is only able to inspect 1.3% of imported food, while 98.7% of uninspected and deliberately adulterated Chinese food enters the U.S. as a matter of “trust” because the FDA works on a “risk-based” inspection philosophy, focusing on specific foods where there is the biggest potential risk. Now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That United Republicans of California recognized the danger to America of Permanent Normal Trade Relations (PNTR) with Communist China and vehemently opposed it because Americans cannot compete with slave labor and calls upon its members to contact their Congressmen to have PNTR repealed; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That United Republicans of California calls upon the Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) to inspect 100% of all Communist Chinese foods (which have been deliberately adulterated with dangerous chemicals) instead of the current paltry 1.3% so that Americans can feel safe about the food they and their families eat.
OPPOSE THE COMPLEMENTARY AND ALTERNATIVE
MEDICINE PRODUCTS AND THEIR REGULATION BY THE FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION
Adopted
in United Republicans of California Spring Convention, May 19, 2007
WHEREAS, A new Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) “guidance” document, “Docket No. 2006D-0480 - Draft Guidance for Industry on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Products and their Regulation by the Food and Drug Administration” (CAM), published on the FDA’s website, reveals plans to reclassify vitamins, supplements, herbs, and even vegetable juices, as FDA-regulated drugs and require FDA approval; and
WHEREAS, The FDA, which does everything in its power to protect drug company profits, including discrediting herbs, supplements and alternative medicine, and whose “experts” who re-approved Merck’s Vioxx after it killed over 50,000 Americans, will now decide whether herbs, supplements, vitamins or simple devices such as massages stone are to be regulated as drugs and medical devices; and
WHEREAS, The FDA is voting on CAM on Wednesday, May 30, 2007. Now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That United Republicans of California
believes in the right of the individual to choose to consume healthy food, take
supplements, vegetable juices, and use alternative therapies, without
government interference, calls upon its members to OPPOSE “Docket No.
2006D-0480 - Draft Guidance for Industry on Complementary and Alternative
Medicine Products and their Regulation by the Food and Drug Administration” by
calling before May 30, 2007, FDA members, to wit: Sheryl

301-594-1184; and Wayne Amchin at 301-827-6739 and expressing strong opinion at
this threat to individual liberty in the choice of alternative medicine.
SUPPORT THE HEALTH FREEDOM PROTECTION ACT
Adopted
in United Republicans of California Spring Convention, May 19, 2007
WHEREAS, The Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) and the Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”) have continued to censor and engage in heavy-handed attempts to restrict access to supplements and educational information by and for Americans; and
WHEREAS, Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) has introduced The Health Freedom Protection Act (H.R. 2117) which would stop the FDA and FTC from censoring truthful claims about the curative, mitigative, or preventative effects of dietary supplements. Now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That
United Republicans of California, knowing that Americans seek information about
natural medicine instead of toxic drugs, supports Ron Paul’s (R-TX) H.R. 2117,
which would prevent the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Federal
Trade Commission (FTC) from interfering with Americans’ right to know about
truthful claims about the curative, mitigative, or preventative effects of
dietary supplements and calls upon its members to contact their Congressmen and
ask them to co-sponsor and support H.R. 2117.
OPPOSE PHYSICIAN-ASSISTED SUICIDE!
Adopted
in United Republicans of California Spring Convention, May 19, 2007
WHEREAS, God gave life to man and man has the duty to protect the most fragile and vulnerable of human life, the young and the old; and
WHEREAS, The California State Assembly is considering a bill that would legalize physician-assisted suicide in the state and is modeled after a similar statute in Oregon, the only U.S. state which allows physician-assisted suicide; and
WHEREAS, Introduced by Assembly Members Patty Berg, Lloyd Levine and Fabian Nunez, the Speaker of the Assembly, AB 374 is entitled the “California Compassionate Choices Act,” which would allow doctors to help patients end their lives. Now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That United Republicans of California
strongly opposes any legislation that would take the life of its most
vulnerable populace, the young and the old, and adamantly opposes the
California Compassionate Choices Act (AB 374) which would allow physicians to
help patients end their lives and calls upon its members to contact their
Assemblymen to tell them to oppose this gruesome legislation.
OPPOSE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION AND AMNESTY
Adopted
in United Republicans of California Spring Convention, May 19, 2007
WHEREAS, On Monday, May 20th, the U.S. Senate will vote on the Kennedy/McCain bill which will give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens through a phony “citizenship path”, expansion of foreign-worker visas, and expansion of legal immigration; and
WHEREAS, Time is of the essence to contact Senators and strongly urge them to vote against any bill that would grant coveted U.S. citizenship to illegal aliens and allow illegal aliens to bring in their extended families, and for other purposes. Now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That United Republicans is vehemently against illegal immigrants gaining amnesty or anything else that allows them to stay in the United States or pay a fine which, in most cases, will be waived and strongly urges its members to call the U.S. Senators IMMEDIATELY and leave messages to oppose any type of amnesty or pathway to citizenship for those who have successfully violated our laws.

OPPOSE MANDATORY HPV VACCINE FOR GIRLS!
Adopted
in United Republicans of California Spring Convention, May 19, 2007
WHEREAS, Young girls should not be used as guinea pigs for state-mandated drug experimentation of any kind; and
WHEREAS, Merck, the giant drug company that had its Vioxx pulled by the FDA after the deaths of over 50,000 Americans, has come under fire over its lobbying efforts, through Women in Government, to have states’ legislators throughout the nation mandate to have their drug, Gardasil, forced upon public-school girls as young as nine years old in order to “prevent” cervical cancer caused by HPV; and
WHEREAS, Although a tragedy, only approximately 3,700 women in the U.S. die from cervical cancer caused by HPV, which does not make cervical cancer an epidemic warranting mandated vaccinations; and
WHEREAS, Gardasil, which costs taxpayers $360 for three shots over three weeks, has not been tested any longer than four years and the potential harm caused by Gardasil to a girl’s later reproductive life, or that of her unborn daughter’s reproductive life, has not been determined; and
WHEREAS, The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons has issued a statement opposing the forced vaccinations of grade school girls, stating that this vaccine mandate violates parental rights, informed consent and privacy; the efficacy and safety of this specific vaccine are unproven; it is an unjustified expansion of the taxpayer’s burden; it constitutes an unwarranted overreaching of executive power; and it violates sunshine-in-government; and
WHEREAS, Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-GA), a medical doctor, introduced the Parental Right to Decide Protection Act (H.R. 1153) which would prohibit federal funding from being used to mandate the HPV vaccine for children. Now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That United Republicans of California, ever aware of parental rights over their children, is greatly concerned about government mandating the forced injection of any drug on pre-teen girls and calls upon its members to contact their State Assemblymen and Senators and strongly urge them to resist using young girls as guinea pigs for untested drugs; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That United Republicans of California strongly supports Rep. Phil Gingrey’s (R-GA) Parental Right to Decide Protection Act (H.R. 1153) and calls upon its members to contact their Congressmen to co-sponsor and support H.R. 1153.

PARTNERSHIP OF NORTH AMERICA
