April 26, 2008 CONVENTION REPORT
Dear UROC Members and Friends:
UROC’s Spring Convention at
the Embassy Suites in Arcadia was an outstanding event with the theme
“THE TRUTH SHALL SET US FREE.” Joe Shell,
the last of the two founders of UROC, passed away on April 7, 2008, and
a tribute to his service to California as a citizen-statesman was
recognized. Great speakers came from around the country to
apprise us of the impending dangers to our Constitution and our
liberties. Will Norman Grigg, published author and a former
Senior Editor of The New American magazine and whose topic was to
“Protect Our Constitutional Liberties,” spoke on
how the government is evolving into a dangerous police state.
He brought along his brand-new book, “Liberty in
Eclipse” which sold well. Orlean Koehle, State
President, Eagle Forum of California, and published author, spoke on
“Defending Yourself From the Real ID
Act.” Mrs. Koehle talked about the biometrics
(i.e., retinal scans, fingerprints, facial recognition) and other forms
of personal data that will be put into the ID Cards which can be read
by hackers at a distance. Instead of protecting American
citizens against terrorists, these ID Cards will be as a national
identification card, to be carried by everyone. If the U.S.
is merged with Canada and Mexico, this data with be
“shared” with socialist Canada and corrupt
Mexico. Mrs. Koehle brought along copies of her
just-published books, “Laying the Foundation for a North
American Union” and “A Closer Look at the Real ID
Act of 2005.” During lunch, UROC’s
special Investigative Reporter, Nancy Thomson, gave an update on the
International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank. As
always, Nancy’s reports are ahead of their time so we need to
be aware of their nefarious dealings. After lunch, Dennis
Mountjoy, candidate for State Senate, gave us an update on Propositions
98 and 99. Bruce Whitaker, Assistant to Orange County
Supervisor Chris Norby, gave his speech on “Preserving
Private Property Rights” and the inherent dangers of eminent
domain through the Community Redevelopment Act (CRA). One of
the most important things he said was that cities without CRA prospered
while cities with CRA did not prosper. Mr. Whitaker also
promoted Proposition 98 against Proposition 99.
During luncheon, special guests were
recognized. Among them were: Yuki Harada, founder of the Los
Angeles Chapter of “California Women for
Agriculture;” and James Privitera, M.D.,patriot.
During the business portion of the
Spring Convention, a Resolution was adopted against the Real ID Act and
members re-affirmed UROC’s Endorsement of Congressman Ron
Paul. Further, candidates for Congress, State Senate and
Assembly were endorsed (see attached).
Before it appeared in any bookstores or
on-line, Ron Paul’s latest book, “The Revolution, A
Manifesto,” was available at UROC for the Convention price of
only $14. UROC’s Conventions always bring you the
latest and the best! In addition, the DVD documentary,
“Missing, Presumed Dead: The Search for America’s
POWs” was on sale. This professionally done DVD can
be purchased from www.MissingPresumedDead.com.
Audiotapes or CDs can be obtained from

America’s God-given rights by bringing you outstanding
